Planned Giving:

Bequests

A bequest through your Will provides continuing support of the work of Wildlife Haven Rehab, Inc. and ensures that your assets are distributed as you wish. A gift through your Will has several advantages:

• Charitable gifts made through your Will are 100 percent deductible for estate tax purposes
• A charitable bequest may place your estate in a lower estate tax bracket
• You may specify that your bequest is used for general purposes of Wildlife Haven Rehab, Inc or for a particular area of interest
  You can name Wildlife Haven as a beneficiary by creating a new Will, adding an addendum to your present Will, or including Wildlife Haven Rehab in your Revocable Trust.

You also have the option of naming Wildlife Haven Rehab as either a direct beneficiary of a set amount of money, a specific asset (e.g. a specified number of shares of stock), or a percentage of your estate. A legacy to Wildlife Haven Rehab, Inc. may take different forms, including:

• An outright bequest of cash, securities
• A beneficiary designation of a life insurance policy, a bank account, a retirement account
• A beneficiary of a living trust, or a testamentary trust

An individual may designate that a bequest be used for the general purposes of Wildlife Haven Rehab, or to support a specific program. The following is a suggested form for such a bequest:

"I give, devise, and bequeath to Wildlife Haven Rehab, Inc. a not-for-profit 501c3 corporation, with its principal offices presently located at 12514 Jot Em Down Lane, Odessa, FL 33556, all (or state specific sum, fraction, or percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real or personal, to be used for the accomplishment of the general purposes of the organization (or for a specific purpose, as indicated). To the extent possible, gifts to charitable organizations shall be paid from income in respect of a decedent."

Life Insurance Policies

The options for life insurance gifts to Wildlife Haven Rehab are varied. Your existing policy, paid-up policy or new policy all can be used to make a gift of life insurance to support Wildlife Haven Rehab's mission. The benefit of designating an existing policy is an immediate income tax deduction, while a new policy offers deductions for continuing annual premiums. Designating Wildlife Haven Rehab as beneficiary or successor beneficiary of a single, term or group life insurance policy is also an option, although it offers less significant tax benefits.
